I'm running behind today but I wanted to show another of the cards we are making for my Holiday Stamp-a-Stack tomorrow.  This one is definitely the easiest but I love how it turned out.

SAS Sneak Peak Using Snow Burst

I really like the look of monochromatic cards and until this year I never would have guessed that I would create one using Not Quite Navy.  Not that I don't like it, I just have had a hard time matching it to other colors.  Not a problem now with the new In Color Baja Breeze.  I love how they look together and have used almost all of the NQN card-stock that has been sitting in my filing cabinet for years.

Is there a color of card-stock that you didn't like but have recently been using?  Leave a comment (and possibly a link to a project you've created with it) and let us see.

Okay can I vent to a second?  Anyone that knows me is well aware of how I feel about the winter.  I ehat it!  (do you know where I got that word?)  Don't get me wrong, I love the snow and think that it is beautiful.  I don't mind shoveling it, snow blowing it or even driving in it.  BUT, the cold and I are not friends and it have been hovering between 15° - 20°(F) all week.  This is just too cold for me and it's only November.  I want some heat!

SAS Sneak Peak Using Holy Triptych

Every time I sit down to create cards for one of my Holiday Stamp-a-Stack (SAS) classes I pull out this stamp set.  It's my favorite and it inspires me.  Don't get me wrong, I love all the cute and whimsical sets that out there but this one draws me in. 

Now on to the card!  It was inspired by the card on page 12 of the Holiday Mini catalog using the new Ski Slope Designer Series Paper.  My dimensions are a little bit different but the colors and basic layout are pretty much the same.

My best family is having a birthday today!

Nolin is the oldest son of my best family (just like best friend but to include the whole bunch of them) and today is the party for his 5th birthday so I had to create a special card for him.

He is having a Transformer party and BumbleBee is his favorite character so I found this image online and used it to create a one of a kind card for him.  I'm really pleased with how it turned out and hope that he likes it.
I printed the image out three times and watercolored them all using my SU! Classic ink refills in Yoyo Yellow and Going Gray.  I then took two of the images and cut them out and then took the third image and cut out the arm that is reaching and the foot that is stepping.

I layered the two full image one on top of the other using dimensionals and then placed the arm and foot on top of that with more dimensionals.  You can see this better in the smaller photo (click it to make it bigger).

I layered these images on to a piece of SU! Designer Series Paper from Ghostly Greetings, then onto a piece of Yoyo Yellow cardstock that was cut 1/8" larger than the DSP and then onto a piece of Basic Gray cardstock that was cut 1/4" larger than the Yoyo Yellow.

The card base is Going Gray which was stamped with a saying from "It's Your Birthday" using Going Gray ink and then a piece of Basic Black cardstock was added to break up the background a little.
