Just Because I Care with SAB

The card base is a 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" piece of Bashful Blue CS folded in half and then stamped using Bashful Blue Classic Ink with the circle image from Polka Dot Punches Sale-a-bration stamp set.  Next I took the 3-1/4" x 4-1/4" piece of Close to Cocoa, and  holding it horizontally, punched the bottom edge with the Eyelet Border Punch and then glued the 2-1/2" x 4" piece of Delicate Dots DSP onto it.  Then I attached a 5" piece of Chocolate Chip 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon and glued it to the card front.

To create the image I stamped the image onto Whisper White CS with Basic Black Ink, punched it out using the Scallop Circle Punch and then colored it in using my SU! Markers.  I used dimensionals to attach it to the card and finished the front by stamping the saying from Best Yet Stamp Set using Chocolate Chip Classic Ink.

You can see in the picture a glimpse of the inside of the card.  For this I punched a 1-1/2" x 5-1/2" piece of Close to Cocoa CS with the Eyelet Border Punch, glued a 7/8" x 5-1/2" piece of Bashful Blue CS on and then glued a 3/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Delicate Dots DPS on.  I attached this to the inside of the card along the bottom edge.

Botanical Blooms and Raspberry Tart

Sale-a-bration (SAB) is one of my favorite times during the year.  Hey, who doesn't like getting free stuff?  I do!  This year SU! changed it up a bit and included not only Stamp Sets but also Designer Series Paper and Ribbon.

Here is a card that I created using the SAB stamp set Botanical Blooms.  It is a 2-Step stamp set and I love the versatility this gives me.    For this card I used the outline images and then colored them in using my aquapainter and ink refills.

Supplies : Cardstock : Rose Red (11" x 4-1/4"), Raspberry Tart DSP (4" x 5-1/4"), Rose Red (3-1/2" x 4-1/4"), Cameo Coral (2-1/2" x 4"), Whisper White (2-3/8" x 3-7/8"), Kiwi Kiss (4" x 5-1/4"), Cameo Coral (1" x 4"), Raspberry Tart DSP (3/4" x 4"); Stamps : Botanical Blooms; Inks : Basic Gray Ink Pad, Cameo Coral Classic Ink Refill, Kiwi Kiss Classic Ink Refill, Rose Red Classic Ink Refill; Accessories : Whisper White 5/8" Organza Ribbon, Aquapainter

For the card base I took an (11" x 4-1/4") piece of Rose Red CS and folded it in half.  I actually finished the inside next.  I glued the (4" x 5-1/4") piece of Kiwi Kiss making sure that the reveal is equal on all four sides.  Then I glued a (1" x 4") piece of Cameo Coral to the bottom of the Kiwi Kiss and then over that I layered the (3/4" x 4") piece of Raspberry Tart DSP.  Next I glued the (4" x 5-1/4") piece of Raspberry Tart DSP to the front of the card and set it aside.

Using Basic Gray ink I randomly stamped the flower image and leaf image over the (2-3/8" x 3-7/8") piece of Whisper White CS and then colored it in using Classic Ink Refills and an Aquapainter.  To watercolor the flowers I first painted them with a very light layer of Cameo Coral, then went back and applied a second, darker layer, over the edges of each petal and finally added some Rose Red accents over the darker area of the Cameo Coral.  I colored the leaves with a light layer of Kiwi Kiss ink and when that was dry I went back and applied some darker layers around the edges.  To finish off the front I painted a very light layer of Kiwi Kiss over all of the remaining white areas.

I glued the water-colored image to a (2-1/2" x 4") piece of Cameo Coral and then onto a (3-1/2" x 4-1/4") piece of Rose Red Textured CS  keeping the reveal on the top, bottom and right equal.

To finish it I used a piece of White 5/8" Organza Ribbon to tie around the image layers with a simple knot.

Simple Valentine's Day Project

Here is a simple project that we did at my Valentine's Day Class.  I'm going to make them for the kids that I watch, they are always so excited to receive hand made gifts.

      

Supplies  :  Card stock : Real Red (4-1/4" x 7"), Pink Pirouette (2-1/4" x 2-3/4"), Real Red (2-1/8" x 2-1/8"), Whisper White (2" x 2"), Bella Rose DSP (2" x 2");  Stamp Sets : Holidays & Wishes, Polka Dot Punches (SAB);  Inks : Real Red Classic Ink;  Accessories : Crop-o-Dial, Paper Snips, Dimensionals,  12" piece of 1/4" White Grosgrain Ribbon, Scallop Edge Punch, Sweethearts Candy

First take the (4-1/4" x 7") piece of  Real Red CS and, holding it horizontally, score it at 1-1/2", 2-1/4", 4-3/4" and 5-1/2" and then fold the score lines.  I know that it's hard to see in the photos but I randomly stamped the heart image onto the Real Red CS with Real Red Classic Ink.  Wrap it around the box of candy and glue the back seam.  I used Tombow Mono Multi but any strong adhesive will work.

Next I punched a hole in the top center of the front and top center of the back using my Crop-o-Dial and then threaded the White Grosgrain Ribbon through them both making sure there is the same amount coming out the front as there is out the back.

Slide your Sweethearts back down into the box, taking the ribbon with it.  Once it's in, tie the ribbon into a simple knot.  This is what you'll use to pull the candy back out.

Take the (2-1/4" x 2-3/4") piece of Pink Pirouette CS and holding it vertically mark the center of the bottom edge (1-1/8").  Make sure to carry the mark up the front of the CS about 1/4".  This will help you line up the center of the Scallop Edge Punch.  Punch the bottom.

Stamp the heart image with Real Red Classic Ink onto the (2" x 2") Bella Rose DSP and then trim it out using your Paper Snips.  Next, stamp the "Happy Valentine's Day" image onto the bottom edge of the (2" x 2") Whisper White CS with Real Red Classic Ink and then adhere the cut out heart above it using Dimensionals.

Layer your image onto the (2-1/8" x 2-1/8") piece of Real Red CS and the layer them onto the Pink Pirouette CS making sure to keep an even reveal on the top edge and two side edges.

Attach this to the front of your candy box and you are done.  Enjoy!
